Only 10 barrels are selected for this small-batch whisky each year. Aged between 10 and 12 years. WINE ENTHUSIAST gave it a 95 rating in 2019 so I’ll give them their due when Dickel makes a wine. Mash bill:84% corn, 8% rye, 8% malted barley with a #4 barrel char, and #2 head. It’s bottled at 86 PROOF. Cold, it gives you a sting throughout the mouth. It’s a dry and tannic bourbon with a woody flavor. Warm, it is much smoother and more flavors can be found. Its dryness gave less of a pucker warm. Overall, a very tasty bourbon. MSRP is $54. This bourbon would make a nice gift, but I don’t think I’d pay $54 for another bottle.

  1. It was dry, but good. When chilled it battled it out with the cigar we paired with it. Once it warmed up everything was great. Would recommend picking this up, especially if you like your whiskeys on the dry side. Enjoyed the detail Dickle provided on the char. Nice thing to know about. We should definitely drink this one again.
