The Perdomo 30 Year line of cigars serves as a gratitude gesture to Perdomo’s patrons, offering three different offerings based on wrapper: Connecticut, Sun Grown, and Maduro.  All Wrappers undergo a 15-year Bourbon barrel aging and the Binder and Filler consist of Nicaraguan tobacco.

Here is what Nick Perdomo has to say about the line:

“The Perdomo 30th Anniversary encapsulates not only the essence of our team’s dedication to the finest quality and craftsmanship, but it also represents our longstanding commitment to our cherished patrons.  It is our way of saying ‘Thank you’ for 30 years of unwavering support.  These special cigars are as much a celebration of our loyal customers as it is our history”

In Episode 352, we sampled the Perdomo 30 Year Connecticut 54 x 5.   Perdomo’s website describes it a mild to medium bodied with smooth, creamy taste highlighting oak and honey to the palate.  During our tasting we found it leaning towards the bold side with noticeable spice and wood flavors, making for a surprising but enjoyable experience.

During our Perdomo Facotry Tour in February 2023, we explored the barrel room where tobacco ages in broubon barrels, emitting an incredible and wonderful aroma. Boy did it smell good in there!

While this was the first time the guys have sampled the Connecticut, Bill previously experienced the Maduro, which we will discuss in a future episode.

There are 5 Vitolas to choose from:

  • Robusto – 5 x 54
  • Epicure – 6 x 54
  • Gordo – 6 x 60
  • Torpedo – 7 x 54
  • Churchill – 7 x 54

We plan to revisit the 30 Year Connecticut soon to determine if the spicy, bold flavor persists or if it was a unique characteristic of that particular day.
