Quesada Cigars introduces the Casa Manga Colorado in 2008.  Manual Quesada and Nestor Plasencia collaborated to create this blend that would go on to have outstanding reviews and win Cigar of the Year in 2008 from Cigar Aficionado

The Nicaraguan Puro is made from Cuban Seed and uses a shade-grown Wrapper from Jalapa, Nicaragua. Quesada Cigars own description is smooth, full-flavored experience, rich coffee notes along with a cedary sweetness and a slight hint of raisins.  Our thoughts leaned towards earthy, woody, and paper or cardboard.  With a strong retro-hale an a mouth coating that built up fast, this is a bolder cigar flavor.  Even with that we did not experience any transition through-out the smoke.

The ones we enjoyed on the show came across as a firm construction, but had an easy draw.  While ours was only 4-3/4” Torito, it seemed bigger than what it really was kind of like a Robusto that has been fattened up for the kill.  There is a very heavy smoke when you draw on it, but the resting smoke is lite.

The Casa Manga Colorado in seven vitolas:

  • Bellicose – 6 ¼ x 54 (158.75 x 21.43 mm)
  • Churchill – 6 ⅞ x 49 (174.63 x 19.45mm)
  • Gigantor – 6 x 64 (152.4 x 25.4mm)
  • Gran Toro – 6 x 58 (152.4 x 23.02 mm)
  • Pikito – 4 ¾ x 42 (120.65 x 16.67 mm)
  • Robusto – 5 ½ x 52 (139.7 x 20.64 mm)
  • Torito – 4 ¾ x 60 (120.65 x 23.81 mm)

From the initial draw to the lingering finish, this cigar captivates the senses, making it a must-try for enthusiasts who enjoy more bold flavors.  If you wish to expand your smoking experience towards the bolder flavors we would suggest giving the Casa Manga Colorado a try.
