Drew Estates cigar of medium body. Comes in Short Corona Gorda, Robusta Extra, Lonsdale Deluxe, Toro Especial, and Piramide Fino. This is the Toro Especial in 6” x 52. Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Honduran binder, Nicaraguan filler. Creamy with a touch of spice and sweetness. Depending on size it’s been rated between a 90 and 94 by Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider in 2013 & 14.
I had some splitting in the wrapper but it didn’t affect the draw. It was a smooth cigar and the spice isn’t peppery. It’s a pretty simple cigar. Although I liked the cigar I wouldn’t spend $9 on it. There are many other $9 cigars I’d pickup first. MSRP $9
I am with Darrell on this. For $9 I can get another stick even in the Drew Estate line that I would rather have. While I did have some issues with the wrapper, the smoke was even and easy. I did not care of the softness when lightly squeezing the cigar. If someone handed this to me I would be happy to smoke it, however, as mentioned there are others in the same price point I would rather have. Drew Estate has a good line of cigars. Perhaps they should re-evaluate this stick for either price point or quality. We should definitely have another one in the future for comparison.
