I find the 46 to be smoother than the original.  A little bite at the back of the mouth that mellows out as it warms.  As Darrell suggested in the last Podcast, I let it warm.  I started sipping it at room temp and then let it warm while sitting in the hot tub.  The effect was nice.  In Bourbons I like a little bite, but not too much, and this one fits that requirement exactly for me.  It has a dark amber color that I find appealing.  The aroma and taste tell the story of the quality this Bourbon is known for.  If you like a Bourbon that is not peaty or smoky this one should be close to the top of your list.
