Bottled at 88 proof, this bourbon offering from Acre Distillery is very smooth and fruity. At $40 this is a very good deal. It is 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. I’m becoming quite fond of the rye whiskeys now so this was right up my alley. It seems that most whiskeys are bottled above 80 proof and at 88 I really wish they would sell a 125 proof. When we were on the tour we got to sample cask strength at 125. At this pour you can tailor the flavor dropwise with water. It was quite a joy to walk through the flavors as you add water little bit by little bit. At 88 proof this is a very good whiskey, but I’d pay $55 if I could get a cask proof bottle.
