Made in Waco, TX with 100% Rye mashbill. I’m not sure how they do a 100% rye and still get it to pour, but it does. The ratings are quite detailed. NOSE: soft charred oak, black tea and cracked pepper open up to fruit and chocolate covered cherries TASTE: creamy buttery toffee, building to peppery spice notes with hints of coffee and nuts. FINISH: peanut butter and dark chocolate. That’s not what I got. I would sum it up as citrusy. Specifically orange. It wasn’t tart or sweet. Somewhere in between. A good flavor, but it always had a bit of a bite. It’s that bite that makes you want to mix it with something. Cold and warm it still bit. At $35 it’s a bit high. This is $22 smooth. In fact, this smoothness is comparable to the $20 Rebel Yell 100. I like to try new things and there it is. Perhaps a try at a friends house, but the cash is probably better spent somewhere else. Still….. I’m drinking it all. It’s not throw out bad, just not $35 good.
