Medium strength, Ecuadorian Sumatra Wrapper, USA CT Binder, and Honduras, Nicaraguan Piloto Cubano Filler. MSRP $7. Woody with a slight pepper flavor to it. We both like this one. It is a shorty, so you get about 45 minutes from this one.
The Liquor
CLM Bracket Play: Rum Tonight we start are CLM Bracket Play Sweet 16. Rum is on deck and ready to go. The four rums to go head to head are:
Pyrat vs Flor de Cana 18
Ron Zacapa vs Kanichi XO.
Up first is Zacapa vs Kanichi XO.
This is a close game between these two. The Vanilla flavor of the Kanichi is just a bit too sweet. The Zacapa only edged out the Kanichi. We were both surprised at just how close this match up was.
Next up is the Pyray vs Flor de Cana 18.
These two have entirely different flavors. Even through price is not supposed to factor into the decision, just taste, the Flor is almost twice the cost of the Pyrat. I dare say that the Flor is almost twice as good as Pyrat, so taste per dollar, is better. In the end, Flor did indeed win this round.
Moving on we now have our head to head in the Rum bracket. Flor de Cana 18 vs Ron Zacapa.
There was some discussion, but we both went with the Zacapa. Zacapa wins!!!
The More
Recent Legislation notification from Cigar Rights of America West Virginal won’t increase taxes. Hawaii won’t raise the minimum age to 25. Some good news coming from the States. Is nice to see that some places are not overly crazy about these things.
Look Back: From De 16, 2005. Oliva Master Blend 2. 7 x 48. 2005 at the Big Smoke in Las Vegas. Ash and wrapper were clean. Almost a square press with a stamp in it. No idea what was meant by a stamp. In the wrapper? Medium draw, even burn. Needed a couple of corrections, but a good flavor. Mild to medium body. Slightly harsh after taste, a little burn to it. This is flavored like a classic cigar. On the porch and paired with a blueberry flavored soda.
Cassie Thoughts: Small compilation of stuff I don’t think I could use as a Cassie Question.
Do you realize that the brain is the only organ that named itself?

Have you noticed that you don’t really notice glass until it’s broken?
Â
You have to have someone else smell your nose to know what it smells like because you’re always smelling it and so don’t smell it anymore.

Y’all didn’t do a losers bracket? This is not proper scientific rigor, gentlemen! The inquiring minds want to know!
Appreciate the input. We will see what we can do about this.
I guess I’ll answer my own question, since you asked. Poor form of me to not answer! My apologies.
If I’m losing end-years, I’d give up 3 years for 45 lbs. (I’m a bit overweight, but not crazy obese.) if they’re current years? (50 to 53 for Bill) eh… No, I’ll go for a jog.
Bill, you got my name right.
Nice. Wish my knees would let me job. Has been a long time. 🙂
